GO Transit’s Wayside Power Electrical Equipment is an energy management system designed to provide climate control to the trains overnight so they are ready for immediate operation to meet the demanding commuter schedule. Motor Control Centres are located within substations and the stainless enclosures sit immediately beside the tracks within 1.5m of a parked train. The trackside stainless enclosure was specially designed to withstand both the year-round exposure to the elements as well as the harsh operating conditions and rumble as the trains pull in and out each day. In addition to supplying the equipment, CCP was involved with the design including building a completely functional prototype. CCP also participates in site commissioning at the many GO sites across the GTA as required. Power is 600VAC, 3ph, 350A with incoming control power of both 120VAC and 120VDC.
